Aalto Works – UNESCO World Heritage Visitor Centre
Located on the mezzanine level of the Aalto2 Museum Centre, the Visitor Centre presents the 13 sites that make up Aalto Works, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in summer 2026. The Visitor Centre exhibition focuses on the sites located in Jyväskylä, as well as other buildings in the city designed by Alvar Aalto’s architectural practice. Visitors are also encouraged to explore other UNESCO World Heritage sites in Central Finland – Petäjävesi Old Church and the Oravivuori station of the Struve Geodetic Arc in Korpilahti – as well as the region’s sauna attractions.
The Visitor Centre has been created in collaboration with the University of Jyväskylä. The exhibition, located in the connecting section of the Museum Centre, can also be visited free of charge without purchasing museum admission.

Jyväskylä’s Aalto Works UNESCO sites include the University of Jyväskylä’s Seminaarinmäki campus, Säynätsalo Town Hall and the Muuratsalo Experimental House.

Through Aalto2, you can book guided tours of Jyväskylä’s Aalto Works UNESCO World Heritage sites: the Muuratsalo Experimental House, the University of Jyväskylä’s Seminaarinmäki campus and Säynätsalo Town Hall.
