Lecture: Aino and Alvar Aalto’s Discoveries from Abroad (Lecture is held in Finnish)

Art historian and Aalto expert Teija Isohauta will give a lecture on foreign influences in Aino and Alvar Aalto’s architecture. After the lecture, enjoy a festive serving of  traditional Christmas drink “glögi”.

Teija Isohauta graduated as an art historian in 1985 and began her career at the Alvar Aalto Museum the following year. She focused on museum education and its development, and was involved in founding the Playce network, which promotes architectural education for young people. During her museum career, Isohauta also conducted research on Aalto’s buildings and travels. Later, as a freelance curator and writer, her research has focused on Aalto’s landscape thinking, and her work Alvar Aalto and the Art of Landscape was published in 2022. Isohauta has also curated exhibitions, written articles on architecture, and given lectures on topics such as architectural education, design, and Aalto.
