Guided tours and groups
Guided tours for groups are available on request. The maximum group size for a guided tour is 20 people.
For larger groups You can also ask for an offer for a tour with a short introduction to the whole group and after that the guide is answering to questions and coming to the exhibition with the group. Duration 60 min.
In order to use a group ticket (12€/person, the group size over 10), the reservation have to be made in advance, tickets for the group must be purchased in one go, and the group must not use other means of payment, such as the Museum Card or culture vouchers.
Languages: Finnish and English.
Group leaders and bus drivers are admitted free of charge.

Guided tours of permanent exhibitions for groups
Exploring Central Finland
Group size: maximum 20 people
Duration: 1 hour
Price: €80 + museum admission

Booking cancellation: two working days in advance
The guided tour explores the history of Central Finland, from prehistoric treasure troves to the turn of the 20th century. The tour will reflect on the life of the people of Central Finland in the different millennia, harvests and decades. The tour will explain what a treasure trove is, take a peek into the smoke sauna, explore the equipment of Amanda the cupbearer, admire beautiful church artefacts and learn about the origins and development of the city of Jyväskylä.
Please book your guided tour at least two weeks in advance, so that we can prepare the best possible tour experience for you. Your booking can be cancelled without cost up to two working days in advance. If you cancel later, we will charge a fee for the guided tour.
AALTO – Work and Life

The guided tour of the AALTO – Work and Life exhibition enhances the exhibition experience by going deeper into Alvar Aalto’s personal history and his work as an architect and designer. The guided tour also discusses Aalto’s wives, the architects Aino Aalto and Elissa Aalto, who were also his colleagues, and the importance of the architects and collaborators at his office. The main perspective is Aalto’s idea of the power of architecture and good design in solving the problems of human life and society. In addition to Aalto’s fascinating life story, the guided tour presents architectural drawings, photographs, scale models, and design objects from the Alvar Aalto Foundation’s collection.
Two guides will be provided for larger groups. Be sure to book your guided tour in time, and at the latest one week in advance.

We also tailor guided tours for special groups, such as the visually impaired. The tailored tour gives participants a chance to examine materials and selected objects using different senses.
