Playing with lines -sketching guidance

4.30 PM

Come and try sketching and drawing as part of the guided tour of Marie-José Van Heen’s exhibition. You will be able to observe the space, try out different exercises, and see the charming handiwork and beautiful architecture of the Alvar Aalto Medal-winning architect.

Pen and paper are often important tools for architects and other creative professionals, and sketching and drawing are necessary steps in the process of achieving a finished, crystallized result. For architect Marie-Jose Van Hee, drawing is also an essential part of the design process.

During the guided tour, you will learn about the architecture and sketches of Van Hee, who was awarded the Alvar Aalto Medal in 2024, and you will also have the opportunity to try your hand at observation and sketching through various exercises and easy tasks. No previous experience or drawing skills are required. Just bring your curiosity and willingness to experiment. The museum will provide you with the necessary tools for the tour. The tour is conducted in Finnish. Welcome!

The sketching guidance is included in the Aalto2 Museum Centre admission.
