AI and the Future of Art Authentication

Dr. Carina Popovici, CEO of the Swiss company Art Recognition, will give a lecture on the use of artificial intelligence in art authentication.

This presentation explores the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in the authentication of artworks. It will begin with an overview of how AI technologies are applied to assess authenticity, followed by case studies of disputed paintings authenticated using AI. Through these examples, the talk will highlight how AI can enhance the accuracy and transparency of traditional authentication practices and shape the future of the art world. The lecture can be attended onsite in Aalto2 Museum Centre (maximum 100 people) or followed via a Museum of Central Finland’s YouTube-channel’s livestream.
