The Experimental House is a studio and summer apartment designed by Alvar and Elissa Aalto for themselves, located on the west shore of Muuratsalo island, about 30 minutes by car from the Aalto2 museum centre. Here, Aalto had the freedom to experiment with different materials, shapes, techniques and proportions. Read more about the building’s stunning architecture on the website of the Alvar Aalto -foundation.
The Muuratsalo Experimental House can be visited during the summer season with a pre-booked guided tour led by an Aalto2 guide.
