Sat 10 AM – 11.30 AM
Sun 11 AM – 12.30 PM

Dive in and discover how people in Central Finland have lived by the water for thousands of years! In the workshop, we will visit the exhibition Exploring Central Finland from the perspective of water and waterways, and create our own dream lakeside landscape.

How did Stone Age people travel along waterways? And what kind of animal might you have seen in a swamp in Central Finland? In this workshop, we explore the exhibition Exploring Central Finland from the perspective of water and waterways.

At the beginning of the workshop, we will tour the exhibition together and reflect on how water has been present in the lives of people in Central Finland throughout different eras. During the tour, you will get to examine prehistoric finds, hear a mythical bear poem, and even peek inside a traditional smoke sauna! Along the way, you’ll also hear fun stories about life in the past in Central Finland.

After the water-themed tour, we will move to the activity space Nappula, where you can create your own dream lakeside landscape through arts and crafts.

Who is it for: Children approximately 4 -12 years old, accompanied by an adult
Group size: Maximum 15 children

The workshop is part of the LystiKylä Festival programme. The workshop is included in the museum centre admission fee or with a Museum Card.
