Welcome to discover the artworks and artists of the COLOUR exhibition in the Art Hall of the Museum of Central Finland, guided by curators Tiina Koivulahti and Jaana Oikari.
The curators of the COLOUR exhibition, Chief Curator Tiina Koivulahti and Curator Jaana Oikari, will guide visitors through the themes and background of this collection exhibition during a curator’s tour at the Museum of Central Finland.
COLOUR – Highlights from the Art Collections of Central Finland is an exceptionally extensive exhibition that brings colour and energy to the heart of winter. It explores the pivotal role colour has played in Central Finnish art and how artists from the region developed their own distinctive approach to colour within the context of Finnish modernism.
The exhibition presents Central Finnish abstract art through paintings and sculptures. The works offer perspectives on the power of colour, expressive form, and artistic thinking across different decades.
COLOUR is presented across two museums from 24 January to 26 April 2026:
Museum of Central Finland
Jyväskylä Art Museum
The curator’s tour is included in the museum centre admission fee or with a Museum Card.
Welcome to explore the world of colour in the company of experts!
