That’s Why There Was LoiskiS Concert

1.30 PM – 4 PM

Welcome to the That’s Why There Was LoiskiS concert and the premiere of the Loiskis Orchestra documentary!

Over the years, the line-ups have changed, and Loiskis has collaborated with a wide range of soloists, including Arja Koriseva, Eeva-Leena Pokela, Eija Ahvo, Susanna Haavisto, Clown Dodo, Satu Sopanen, Mikko Perkoila and Tuomo Rannankari.

But that’s not all… The dive into the orchestra’s history begins even before the concert with the premiere of the Loiskis Documentary! Directed by Loiskis’ trusted photographer Terhi Salomaa and created together with Ville Peltonen, this approximately 20-minute documentary film follows familiar characters from Loiskis’ journey over the years. Rooted in history but spiced up with Loiskis-style witty comedy, the documentary is neither dull chatter nor needless stiffness – it entertains regardless of age.

At the That’s Why There Was LoiskiS – history concert, the Children’s Music Orchestra Loiskis will also publish a richly illustrated, nearly 200-page hardback history book chronicling its colourful 25-year journey. The work is written by Hilda Ivars & Oona-Emilia Enkelsaari, who also authored the biography of Ansa Ikonen. The book dives into the vibrant activity and history of the orchestra with a real splash!
