New Aalto2 museum hub opens in Jyväskylä in May
The highpoint of the year is the opening on 27.5.2023 of the Aalto 2 museum hub. The new museum hub combines two Alvar Aalto-designed edifices, the Museum of Central Finland (1956–61, 1991) and the Alvar Aalto Museum (1971–73). The new section built between the two museums has been designed by Arkkitehtitoimisto A-Konsultit Oy.

The public can learn about the local cultural heritage in the Museum of Central Finland’s permanent exhibition Exploring Central Finland. The Alvar Aalto Museum’s new main exhibition AALTO – Work and Life introduces Aalto’s production and the ideas behind his design to constantly new target audiences.
Aalto2 is on stage in 2.2. in Helsinki and 3.2. in Jyväskylä, as part of the Architecture and Design Days.
